STRAWBERRY BOW CARD

Good morning all,

Well decided to go through some of my old DSP and make room for some new ones. (some beautiful new papers coming in new catalogue Of course I had to make a card to use some papers.  Well this card is a bow card which a very lovely lady on another card site (Karen Anne) posted and I just had to take up the challenge to make one.  I think the original came from Beccy's blog site.  Anyhoooo   I have put my own spin on it and here is the end result.  I got some very sticky fingers making it but I think you will agree the end result is quite lovely!.  This is going to a special couple who have just moved house!  So now I had better go and finish the task that I came in here to do and that is to sort through all my papers!  Funny how you get side tracked and make a card while cleaning! Hope you are all well and I plan to start back in May for all my classes so watch this space!  Thank you to everyone for your support during my down time.  An unknown illness is so distressing.

Until next time, keep on stampin!

Faux Metallic background technique

Good afternoon all,

Well I've been a busy bee this morning should be putting my feet up and I did while I was doing this so all good.  I have made a video to show you how to make a gorgeous background using embossing powders.  I hope you like this technique and give it a go.  I actually went to make a card and wanted to use some copper foils but to my dismay I was out!  So I thought what I could do instead and this technique came to mind from years earlier.  The card at the top is the first card I made and I used some Vellum underneath, however the card in the video is a little different and didn't use the vellum. Both still look ok I guess.

I hope you like the video here is the youtube link:  https://youtu.be/gPXLID2BKX4  I would love to see if you make any similar type cards.

TROPICAL CHIC AND METALLIC HEAT EMBOSSING POWDERS

Good morning to you all,

A very rainy Anzac Day, couldn't make it to the march but managed a Thank You card in the craft room.  The Anzacs did come to mind when I made this card as a big thank you to all who served in the armed forces and fought for our country and for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Who said Tropical Chic had to be green and colourful.  This card was inspired by a news presenter's outfit, yep amazing where I get my inspiration and its not the first time a news reader's outfit has inspired me.  I even was inspired once by a contestant on the Chase Australia and took a pic of the TV!  Crazy I know but hey you do what you gotta do!  Mind you I haven't made the card yet but its in my inspiration box!

All the products used in today's card are listed below.  Don't overlook the metallic embossing powders.  Heat embossing is the bomb!  My favourite technique in cardmaking and scrapbooking and I am still in awe every time I see the magic of the powders come to life and shine.  You don't need all the colours either, a simple clear embossing powder can be stamped with versamark ink over any coloured inked sentiment to add a shine to  your sentiment hence giving you a heat embossed shiny sentiment!  You may need a stamp positioning tool to do this to ensure you stamped over the coloured ink.  If you are not sure how to do this and are interested to see how it is done, watch this space as I plan on doing a FB live in the next week or so packed full of techniques!  So stay tuned!!

A reminder only a few days left for the April competition and you have to be in it to win it!  Spend $50 in my store during April and go into the draw to win the Stitched Stars Dies.  You can shop here on my blog at my 24/7 store!

Until next time, keep on Stampin and stay safe and well.

FAUX MOTHER OF PEARL TECHNIQUE

Evening all,

Not very often I am inspired at this time of night but it was so warm and humid I had to get into my air conditioned craft room to create.  Tonight made this very simple card using the Frosted White Shimmer paste to create the Fauz Mother of Pearl background.  To do this you will need:

  •  A paper plate
  • Some cling wrap

All the supplies will be listed below.    If you wish to purchase any products used here, be sure to just click on the SHOP WITH ME BUTTON above right here on my blog site.  That will take you directly to my shop.

  1. Scrunch up the cling wrap.
  2. Add some Shimmer Paste onto paper plate.
  3. Dab the cling wrap into the paste and apply onto your cardstock. (I used Whisper White cardstock for this card)
  4. With a Blending Brush (ie you can use a roller or a dauber) apply the ink of your choice.
  5. Once covered the desired amount of cardstock (I used a 12 x 12 sheet and did three different coloured inks) you can wipe off excess ink and the ink will stay on the cardstock except in the areas where you have applied the shimmer paste!  Voila!!!

I mounted the card onto a few layers as to give it a bit of an extra frame.  The two pictures above ar of the same card but I wanted to capture to shimmer!

Hope you like tonight's very simple card!

Until next time...

Keep on Stampin

POSITIVE THOUGHTS

Hello all my lovelies,

Well it's sad when you find out someone is about to undergo cancer treatment, you don't want to give them a sympathy card but you do want to give them heaps of positive thoughts.  I have made this card for a lovely neighbour of ours who is about to undergo treatment.  I hope it gives him the lift he needs. I have also made a matching envelope.  I have listed all the supplies below if you would like to make this card.

It's a very simple card but the perfect card for a male, I think, who is about to undergo chemotherapy.  We wish him all the very best.  Let me know what you think of the card.

Stay tuned during February when I will be starting up my classes again and hopefully doing some online classes.

Hope you are all keeping safe and well.

Until next time, keep on stampin!
