Leaves of Holly

Hello all,

Here is the card I made in a recent Facebook Live class.  I love the Leaves of Holly stamp set and I really think my lovely ladies were really taken with that sentiment die. Although there were a few technical difficulties we managed to struggle through.

I used Real Red for the card base, Soft succulent ink for the leaves and Real Red for the berries.  I die cut a border using one of the basic borders and then embossed that piece of paper using the Wintry 3D embossing folder.  I also used adhesive sheets on my cardstock before die cutting the intricate dies.   All the instructions are below as well as all the products used.

MATERIALS:

Basic White cardstock (1 @ 10cm x 14.3cm and 1 @ 8cms x 14.30cms) and another piece measuring approx 6 x 6cms for sentiment etc.

Real Red cardstock for card base measuring 14.9cms x 10.5cms and another small piece to cut berries out of.

Adhesive sheets #152334 pg 127 A/C 12 sheet 6” x 12”

Gold Ribbon 1cm Shimmer ribbon #156470 Page 61 mini catalogue

Gold embossing powder

Versamark

Leaves of Holly Stamp Bundle on page 25 Mini catalogue #159608

Soft Succulent ink pad

Real Red ink pad

Wintry 3d embossing folder #155433 pg 177 Annual Catalogue

Acrylic blocks used are A and D

Basic Border Dies page 169 A/c #155558

Stampin Dimensionals #104430 pg 127 A/C or Foam adhesive sheets pg 127 #141825

Champagne Rhinestones basic jewels #151193 Pg 142 A/C

Mini Glue Dots #103683 Pg 127 A/C

METHOD:

  • Fold and burnish Real Red card base in half and put aside.

  • Take one of the Basic White cards measuring 10cms x 14.3cms and die cut a border off one end. Measure in about 4cms from the edge and place your die and run through Cut and Emboss machine.

**(Tip hold your die in place using a piece of masking tape).

  • Using the Wintry 3d embossing folder emboss this piece of cardstock and put aside for now.

  • Take the piece of White cardstock for your card front measuring 10 x 14.3cms and randomly stamp the leaves and berries at one end of the cardstock (Landscape) using Soft Succulent and Real Red inks.

(TIP: Just measure with the embossed cardstock to make sure you have stamp up far enough).

  • On the piece of spare white cardstock, adhere your adhesive sheets to cover the back of this piece of cardstock. stamp your sentiment in versamark and then heat emboss with gold embossing powder.

TIP: Make sure you leave enough space on the cardstock to cut the die around the sentiment.

  • Die cut the sentiment die from this piece as well as your white accents for the berries.

TIP: Ensure you run this through several times to allow for the extra thickness of the adhesive sheet backing. Also the white accents for the berries will be cut from this as well.

(Tip: you could use snowflake accents to the berries if you wish but I found it such a small area it was too much worth a try though).

  • Die cut the backing of the leaves from the sentiment die in soft succulent cardstock.

  • Adhere the soft succulent leaves to the back of the sentiment white leaves by taking off only the amount of adhesive sheet to adhere the leaves to it.

  • Cut the berries out of the real red cardstock

Attach to the white accents by removing the adhesive backing and stick to the red berries.

LET's PUT IT ALTOGETHER NOW:

  • Attach the embossed and bordered white cardstock to the stamped cardstock by using either double sided tape or liquid adhesive

  • Attach the berries on top of the leaves on the sentiment die and then attach the sentiment piece using either foam adhesive sheets or dimensionals

  • Tie a bow and attach using Mini glue dot/s.

  • Attach three Rhinestones

  • Attach your completed card front to the Real Red Card base.

RINGS OF LOVE

Good morning everyone,

Made this card this morning using the Rings of Love DSP which is available only during Sale-a-bration.  However the Ringed with Nature bundle which co-ordinates beautifully with this DSP is available in the current mini catalogue.  A lovely pairing!  I wanted to make a scene with the DSP so came up with this.  Still not sure what I think of it as it is a bit different to what I normally make.

You may not be able to see it in the picture but I blended the bottom  half of the card front with soft sea foam using a blending brush and the top half using balmy blue just to give the impression of the sky and the grass  The grass stamp is from the Wildflower Path stamp set as is the sentiment.  I also thought the Evening Everegreen windowpane ribbon gave the illusion of a fence in the background.  Not sure I achieved all my goals but would love to know your thoughts on this card.

All the products used are listed below.

Well that's a quick blog post for today.  Hope you have a great day.

Until next time, keep on Stampin.

WONDERFUL WORLD DSP

Good morning everyone and thanks for stopping by.

So Sale-A-Bration is in full swing and I really wanted to share with you this gorgeous new DSP from Stampin Up only available during Sale-A-Bration with a qualifying order.  Spend $180 or more and the stamp set and the DSP are yours for free.  You might think that $180 is a lot to spend but why not get some friends to  order with you and go halves in the DSP?  Just a thought. The irises are just gorgeous!!  The stamp set is beautiful as well but this card was made by cutting out some of the lovely images from the DSP.  It is mounted on a piece of cardstock which has been embossed.  Loving the new Rose Gold and White ribbon which I have used here.  I heat embossed the sentiment, which is from the Cottage Rose stamp set, in copper which seems to go nicely with the rose gold.  All the products used in this project are listed below.  You can check out all the Sale-A-Bration freebies in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue here on my blog page as well as my 24/7 shop.  All the current catalogues are here on this page as well.

I hope you like today's card and don't forget if you live in Brisbane and would like to come along to my Cardonnay afternoon on 30/7/2022 I am taking bookings now on 0419721561!

Until next time, keep on Stampin

LEAVES OF HOLLY

Good afternoon all,

Got delivery of my goodies from the now current mini catalogue and OMG I am so happy!!  Here's my very first Christmas Card for 2022.  I usually don't get started on Christmas cards until November at least (please don't judge me, I know I'm a little disorganised!!).  :)  But gotta say I may be more organised this year as these Christmas goodies are just beautiful.

This card is made using the Boughs of Holly Suite which includes the Leaves of Holly stamps, the Holly Berry Dies, Textural elements (Wooden berry sticks) and the Boughs of Holly 12 x12 DSP.  I truly love this Suite but the good thing is, you can also purchase each separately if you don't want the whole suite.

I will be making some cards using this Suite at my upcoming "Cardonnay" cardmaking afternoon on Saturday 30th July.  If you live in Brisbane Australia and you want further information please call 0419721561 or message me on Facebook.  All the details are over on my Facebook Page Wynning Creations.  It's going to be a great afternoon and there will be prizes to be drawn.  Gotta be there to win though!   Cost is only $30 which includes everything supplies to make 3 beautiful greeting cards, tea, coffee, wine and all you can eat afternoon tea sweets and savouries.  Bookings essential and payment at booking is requested as there is quite a lot of preparation required for such a function.  Look forward to hearing from  you.

So back to the card, I used Evening Evergreen for the card base.  The card front is Sahara Sand and I stamped one of the holly leaves in Sahara Sand over the card.  Everything else is from the beautiful new Boughs of Holly Suite currently available in the new mini catalogue.  I used the Distressed Gold DSP from the Annual Catalogue for the gold accents on the berries.  I also used Cherry Cobler for the berries but in hindsight I think I should have used Real Red but it still looks ok!

Hope you like today's card.

Until next time

Keep on Stampin.

NEW ARRIVALS!!

HOORAY!!  My new products arrived this morning and couldn't wait to play.

CARD 1:

Using the gorgeous new  Testure Chic DSP all I did was cut a strip of one of the sheets of DSP about 5cms in width.  Used a retired hexagon embossing folder to emboss the white card stock base.  Also used an old hexagon punch I found in my stash and cut a small hexagon out of the dsp and a larger one in gold, adhered a sentiment which I had heat embossed in gold.  I then mounted it all onto a piece of petal pink cardstock and then onto the card base which is Pool Party.

CARD 2.

So while I had the DSP out thought I would make another card and as I don't have a lot of sympathy cards in my collection, (hopefully don't have to use them!) you just never know!  So I made this next card with another page of the Texture Chic DPS whic I use to mount an embossed piece of white cardstock.  The embossing folder is a newbie and its a beauty!  I think I will be using it a lot in the next few weeks.  It's called Elegant Eucalyptus.  Very appropriate for us Aussies!   So after I embossed the white I felt it needed a little more gold so I light rubbed my versamark ink pad over the embossed image and then applied heat and stick powder and heated.  I then rubbed over the gilded gold flakes very light just to give a little gold edge to the embossed imaged.  I heat embossed the sentiment from the Nature's Harvest stamp set then added a gold bow.  I mounted it on a soft succluent card base.

CARD 3
I really had fun making this card this morning.  I cut out one of the flower bunches from the Abigai Rose DSP and used my alchol ink blending pens to colour.  Here are the pens I used.
I Also used another piece from the DSP (the Petal Pink and white sgriped background paper) and heat embossed in gold around the edges.  I used the Natural Finish ribbon which comes in the suite to wrap around the card front.  Heat embossed the Best Wishes sentiment from the Cottage Rose stamp set and put it altogether.  I used the gorgeous gold butterflies to add a little gold embellishment to the card.
