JUST PLAYING TODAY

Hello everyone!  Thanks for stopping by!

We went to watch one of the grandson's play soccer today but as it has been raining sporadically, I came home and decided to play in the craft room.  I made three cards, the first one is using the amazing new Hues of Happpiness DSP.  I only purchased the DSP but think now I want the stamp set and dies.  The dies actually cut out some of the images in the DSP and I love it when Stampin Up makes that happens.  Makes like so much easier than fussy cutting.  So not having the dies, I did some fussy cutting of flowers to make this first card.  But check out the background!!  Its also the DSP and it is just gorgeous.  An ombre style with variations in ink.  How cool is that!  It makes it so simple to make a very impressive card.

Some of pages of DSP are featured in the bakcground of the photo.  It just shows you some of the beautiful papers available, and double sided!

The second card was a play around with embossing powders, stencils and blending brushes.  I used the Butterfly stencil on white cardstock and then put a second patterned stencil over the top of that and used versamark ink.  Took away the stencil and then heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  When that was set, I put the butterfly stencil back on and used a blending brush and Blushing Bride ink to blend the pink background.  It was also outside my box as I don't usually make square cards but I am challenging myself of late and making things I don't usually do.  Amazing what you come up with!!

I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out actually.

For the third card, I used my stamparatus and the Wildflower Patch stamp set.  This stamp set is best used with the stamparatus as there are very small stamps to make up the tiny wildflowers.  But boy did I have fun.  I have also used lots of layers on this card as I think layering is important in cardmaking and gives lots of dimension, some cards need layers more than others and I felt this one needed the layering.  Really happy with this one as well.  Love flowery cards.   Certainly a stamp set worth looking at if you want some delicate flowers on your cards.  I'm glad I got it not just for the flowers etcs but the font for the sentiments if really nice as well.

Hope you like the cards I've made today and I hope that they inspire you to create some yourself.  I would love to see what you make.  Please feel free to share what you have made this weekend,

Start making your shopping list in time for the start of the new catalogue.  You are going to love it!

Until next time, keep on stampin!!
