BOOK BINDER TRANSLUCENT FLORALS CARD

Translucent florals book binding card

At the Coffee and Card class on 26/9/2023, the ladies made a book binder fold card using the Translucent Florals. Some of the ladies hadn't made one before and really enjoyed making the card. Here are the instructions. Would love to see if your makes!!!

CUTTING AND SCORING
Cut a piece of Berry Burst cardstock measuring 28 x 12cms and score it at 11cms and 14cms. This is your card base.
You will need two pieces of white card stock measuring 10.5cms x 11.5cms. (one for the front and one for inside)
A piece of white cardstock measuring 2.5cms x 11.5cms (mounting strip for your DSP on the bind)
A piece of DSP measuring 2 x 11cms.

LET'S GO!!
Fold and burnish the two folds.
Adhere the binder section down using liquid glue or tape.
Emboss one of the white pieces of cardstock measuring 10.5 x 11.5cms.
Attach your strip of DSP to the strip of white cardstock and then adhere to the binder section of the card.

On an extra piece of white cardstock stamp your leaves. TIP: I used the Rock n Roll technique for these where you ink up your leaf stamp in Granny Apple Green and then roll the edges of the stamp around in the Pretty Peacock ink pad and then stamp onto your cardstock. This should give you darker edges. ALWAYS TEST ON YOUR GRID PAPER FIRST IF YOU ARE UNSURE!! When you have stamped, you can die cut the leaves out.

Stampin the half flower from the Translucent Florals stamp in Berry Burst and one in Calypso Coral. TIP: I find a light touch is needed with this beautiful stamp set. PRACTICE ON YOUR GRID PAPER FIRST! Don't apply heavy pressure when stamping.
When you are happy allow a little time for ink to dry and then you can die cut your flowers out.

THE SENTIMENT:
Stamp your sentiment on another piece of white cardstock using Versamark and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. I used the Lasting Label punch. I then stamps some more of the leaves (using the same technique as on the larger leaves) around the sentiment.
Heat embossing the edges of your sentiment block. (Optional -to do this stand your edges of your sentiment piece in a versamark ink pad and then dip in gold embossing powder, I do one side at a time. This gives a lovely subtle gold edging to your sentiment.
Use black cardstock to cut centres out for your vellum flowers (this gives you a section to hide mini stampin dimensionals when you attach your flowers.

Arrange your flowers and sentiment how you would like them placed on your card front and attach.
I used liquid glue to adhere the leaves first.
Attach mini stampin dimensionals to the back of the flowers behind your black centres and attach.
Use Stampin Dimensionals to attach your sentiment block.
Tie a bow in the Gingham ribbon and attach using mini glue dots.
You can stamp a flower in the bottom corner of the inside piece of the other piece of white card stock.
