WATER COLOUR MOUNTAIN SCENE

Mountain scene card

Use your reinkers to paint a mountain scene for the front of you next card.

Your card base will be in Night of Navy measuring 14.9cms x 21cms scored on the long side at 10.5cm.
Water Fluid 100 paper sheet cut in half on the long side (should measure 8.9cms x 12.7cms. The matt in white or very vanilla (I used shimmery white but this is no longer available with Stampin Up) will measure 9.9cms x 13.7cms.

Prepare your inks, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight on a palette with a drop of re-inker and some water.
Spritz your piece of water colour paper with water to ensure even coverage of water.
Starting with Calypso Coral swipe across the paper down to about half way ensuring the paper is wet. Then switch to Daffodil Delight and gradually paint down to the bottom of the page. You can sop up any excess with a paper towel.NB. VERY IMPORTANT Allow to dry completely before painting in mountains.

When completely dry mix up three tones of Night of Navy ink onto an acrylic block (You can use shades of gray if you want). The first mountain colour should be a very very pale wash. Always test your colour onto a scrap piece of paper. When satisfied with your colours, paint in your mountains ensuring you paint all the way to the bottom of the page. Start your mountings about half way down the page. When mountains painted, ALLOW TO DRY COMPLETELY

Ensure your painting is dry!!! Paint in the next layer of mountains in the medium toned colour ensuring you continue all the way to the bottom of the page again.

Now for the third lot of mountains and this should be the darkest of the inks. Paint your mountains ensuring you paint to the bottom of the page.
allow to completely dry.
When dry you can stamp a leaf or stamp in the foreground and heat emboss your sentiment of choice in Copper embossing powder. Cut sentiment strip and tag ends or use a label punch. Adhere with stampin Dimensionals. Mount your painting onto the white mount and then adhere to the Night of Navy card base.
