Mother's Day Cards

Good afternoon all, So was in the craft room today doing a Mother's Day challenge for a group I belong to. Made these two cards the same but in different colours. All the products are listed below if you wish to purchase any. One is done in Soft Succulent and the other is in Blackberry Bliss. The beautiful bouquet flower dies are from the Harvest Dies in the Nature's Harvest Bundle. The Happy Mother's Day sentiment is from the Timeless Tulips stamp set and the inside sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp.  Basi

The front is made by taking your basic white card front and sponging it with your blending brushes in the desired coloured ink.  Do the edges and gradually go towards the centre but leaving the centre very pale.  I then used the embossing paste to emboss a pattern over this.  While waiting for it to dry I cut my bouquet flowers and coloured them with inks and lay them on a lace framelit die to create the bouquet.  I then created the flower but punching out 4 daisies out of coloured cardstock and layering them and adding a black centre with a very small flower punch I had.  When embossing paste is dry, wrap your ribbon around the card front and adhere to the back.  I cut the excess and used it to make two tags for the bottom of the daisy. You can now adhere your framelit with the bouquet to your card front.  Sentiment is heat embossed with silver embossing powder and I used the tag punch to take the ends of the sentiment piece.  I cut a small dragonfly and a small butterly and adhered them as well.  I think it all came together nicely.  I must admit I was inspired by Susan Levasseur in the States who does some awesome creations.

I love the inside sentiment as it says it all. The stamp set Lovely You has some beautiful script sentiments which I just love.  As I didn't have any Blackberry Bliss coloured ribbon, I took the gorgeous white Glittered Organdy ribbon and used a blending brush to brush on the Blackberry Bliss ink straight from the ink pad.   This is an awesome way to co-ordinate the colours by using basic white coloured ribbon and sponge with your ink.

I hope you like these two cards and that this inspires you to make some mother's day cards.  All the products are available from my shop here on my blog site and remember that if you purchase $50 or more during the month of April you go into the draw to win The Stitched Stars framelits! Happy Shopping!

Until next time, keep on Stampin!
